Farewell to the Stamford International University of Thailand

11 apr 2017

The students from the MBA in Sports Managment of the Stamford International University from Thailand said goodbye to the Real Madrid Graduate School – Universidad Europea after a week in the Spanish capital city, where they participated in several activities all very relevant to their education as sports professionals.

Their first visit was to Valdebebas, to the Real Madrid sports facilities. There they met with David Mora, who guided them through the facilities: they visited the football fields and the gym where the team trains on a regular basis. After the tour, they went to a talk about the influence of social networks in sports.

The Spanish football federation in Las Rozas, was another of the visits they made. This is where all the different football teams do their training sessions, like the female team, the sub16 and the indoor football team.

The students also enjoyed a visit to the Golf National Centre where they found the Spanish Selection of Golf. There they learned how to manage a golf course and they where also able to practice this sport by using the techniques that some of the professionals of golf taught them.

The representative in Spain of the European Spartan Race, Ángel Sanz, gave a talk to the students about the organization of these kind of events and about entrepreneurship.

On Thursday, they went to La Caja Mágica, a very important venue for the tennis world, but also a place where other big events are held such as music festivals. The students visited the different tennis courts and learned about their characteristics.

That very same day, they went to the Bull Fighting Venue of Plaza de toros de Las Ventas, an historic building where there are not only bull fighting events but also concerts, musicals, gastronomic fairs, the Redbull X-Fighters and more. They met with the students of the BITS Hochschule University  from Germany that are also visiting the Graduate School until July.

Their visit came to an end last Friday with a Master Class offered by the Real Madrid Marketing Department, a private visit to the Bernabeu Stadium with Emilio Butragueño, who is the Director of Institutional Relations of the Real Madrid Team and also the Director of the Real Madrid Graduate School – Universidad Europea.

It was a week full of experiences where they have learned from some of the most relevant professionals in the sports world, and also from one of the most relevant football clubs in the world. A true opportunity brought together by the collaboration between the two universities:  The Stamford International University and the Real Madrid Graduate School – Universidad Europea. Both part of the Laureate International Universities network.
