The students from the MBA in Sports Marketing traveled on the 19th of January to Germany in order to enjoy 10 days in the cities of Brussels, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Dortmund and Munich.
Their trip started with a visit to the Constant Van den Stock Stadium, in Anderlecht, Brussels, where the RSC Anderlecht team play its home games. There, they had a meeting Mr. Matthijs Keersebilck, who is the Team Sales and Marketing Manager.
The next day, they visited the Stadion Feyennord in Kuip, Rotterdam, where they had the chance to enjoy a guided visit.
During the third day of the trip, they attended the match between Ajax and Feyennord, held in the city of Amsterdam.
Another remarkable visit was the one to the Amsterdam Arena, where Jeroen van Jersel, marketing manager at the Ajax Team, presented some key aspects of the team. After the presentation, the students took a guided tour around the stadium facilities.
In the city of Dortmund, the students were able to visit the German Fussball Museum, a museum that after the World Cup FIFA 2006, was created by the DFB with the earnings of the German World Cup.
Another of the places that they visited was the Signal Iduna Park, the biggest Stadium in the country and the headquarter of the Borussia Dortmund, where they met Edmon Vereb, who explained them how they manage the team brand and image.
On Wednesday, they went to the VELTINS-Arena Stadium, in the city of Gelsenkirchen, where the Schalke 04 plays its Bundesleague matches. There, they met with the team’s marketing department.
Another of their field trips was to the Adidas headquarters, where they had the chance to meet all the company members. The students also had an opportunity to do some shopping in their outlet.
The marketing department from the Bayern of Munich team, welcomed them at the Allianz stadium to introduce the team. The students were able to watch the match between Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim.
Last but not least, they attended the ISPO 2018, and international exhibition of sports and fashion products that gathers the best professionals of the sports world. It is held every year in the city of Munich. There, they learned about the main innovations of the sports sector.
