After the devastating magnitude 7.1 earthquakes that hit Mexico City and areas surrounding the capital of Mexico on September 19, the Laureate International Universities network, together with the leaders of Laureate Mexico, the Universidad del Valle de México and UNITEC, are being kept up-to-date with the latest news on the university community, their families and all those affected.
Laureate has expressed its admiration and pride in having such brave people in its global network who, faced with such a catastrophic situation, dedicated their time and resources to students, teaching and support staff in need of assistance. For this reason, Laureate has organized a crowdfunding campaign so that the entire university community around the world can donate funds. Proceeds will be matched by Laureate at a rate of 2:1, to a maximum of $25,000. The funds will go to members of Laureate México seriously affected by the earthquakes.
The Universidad Europea community is invited to take part in this campaign, which will run until October 31, to support our colleagues in Mexico. At such a difficult time any help or contribution is of vital importance so that the victims can quickly recover from this natural disaster. It’s time to share the spirit of Here For Good that connects the entire Laureate network and, more than ever, Mexico.
Take part in the campaign here.
