Last October, the National Sports Council (CSD) granted the Royal Order Silver Medal for Sporting Merit to Juan Carlos Álvarez, an Athletics Professor at the School of Sports and Exercise Sciences of the Universidad Europea.
On October 19, the National Sports Council (CSD) announced the athletes, entities and sports professionals who have won the gold, silver and bronze medal and plaques in their respective categories according to the resolution presented and signed by Miguel Cardenal, former President of the CSD.
The honor awarded to Professor Álvarez, in the coaching category, is considered to be one of the most prestigious prizes for sport in Spain, granted each year by the National Government through the National Sports Council. At this edition, the gold medal winners included champions and Olympic medal winners Carolina Marín, Maialen Chourraut and Marc Márquez.
