During the week of April 25-29, the Universidad Europea 's Career Week held 25 sessions and activities with more than 100 speakers and Human Resources experts from more than 50 companies, including Deloitte, Amadeus, Sacyr, Everis, Banc Sabadell, Indra and Real Madrid.
The schedule for the week, which was kicked off by Adecco Service and Quality Director Iria Vázquez Palacios, was structured around three focus areas: Cross-Disciplinary Sessions to orient students to the current job market; Specific Sessions to present the specific trends of each sector; and finally, Special Activities, which are essentially practical, and teach students the keys to successfully approaching hiring processes when applying for a job.
During her speech at Global Career Week, Adecco's Service and Quality Director stated that “most of the careers of the future already exist, but will continue to become more specialized,” essentially due to the impact of new technologies on the job market and on our personal lives. She also indicated the sectors that will generate the most employment in the future, including sectors related to technology and R&D; followed by tourism and leisure; health and wellness; and energy.
The week also included activities led by top-level employers like Adecco, Universia, Banco Sabadell and People Matters, and renowned professionals like Deloitte HR Director Luis López, who emphasized how students must look for companies with a working environment and way of doing things that they like, and should pay attention to the career opportunities offered to them in order to choose a place where they will feel comfortable.
