Students on the Degree in Sports Management have had the opportunity to listen and ask their questions to the head of sports in the Community of Madrid, the Deputy Minister of Sports, Alberto Tomé.
Tomé, who himself has a degree in Physical Activity and Sport, explained in detail to the students what are the challenges and some of the solutions for sport in Madrid. He discussed details of the daily work, the pacts and agreements to advance in some budgets and how to access positions of high responsibility in the management of public sport in Spain.
Students were keen to put their questions to him too. Some of the questions asked included
if the new Bernabéu will affect the management of the Palacio de los Deportes or if Madrid will once again aspire to host the Olympic Games?
After the talk, Tomé visited the Faculty’s facilities along with Dean Simone Sato and the rest of his Governing Board. They also analyzed future lines of collaboration for the improvement of sport in the region.
