I-SHAPE is a reference center in the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Sports of the Universidad Europea de Madrid, designed to integrate the most advanced technology, high-level teaching and cutting-edge research in the field of health and human performance.

This multidisciplinary environment houses the most innovative laboratories, providing an ideal space for the practical training of students and the development of research at the forefront. Its state-of-the-art equipment allows the application of advanced technologies in:

Stress testing and exercise physiology analysis.
Sports training and performance optimization.
Analysis of human movement through biomechanical studies.
Therapeutic applications in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Imaging scans with high-precision ultrasound technology.

The I-SHAPE is a bridge between the university and sports and health field, consolidating itself as the ideal space for collaboration among teachers, researchers, students and companies. Its infrastructure is designed to promote knowledge of the psychophysiological limits of the human being, with the aim of improving health, optimizing performance and promoting scientific innovation.

These facilities are available to students and faculty members of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, Sports Technology, Physiotherapy, Medicine, and other Health Sciences disciplines, in both Bachelor's and Postgraduate programs, establishing themselves as an academic and scientific benchmark in the field.

Motion analysis and biomechanics

VICON system with 8 3D motion capture cameras, functional indoors and outdoors.
DELSYS wireless lectromyography system (16 channels) for accurate assessment of muscle activation.
Sport Tracking System, which enables the monitoring of physical activity in different environments.

Performance assessment and stress testing

Treadmills, Wattbike Pro cycle ergometers and arm ergometers with mechanical and electromagnetic brakes, designed for testing elite athletes and the general population.
Lactate analyzer, a key tool for assessing the metabolic response to exercise.
DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry ) for bone density and body composition analysis, providing insights into muscle mass, bone density, and fat distribution.

Physiotherapy and diagnostic imaging

High-precision ultrasound scanners for assessment and treatment in physiotherapy and sports medicine.
