The International Conference on Optometry, Contact Lenses and Ophthalmic Optics OPTOM 2016, which celebrated its 24th edition in April, brought together professors, students and recent graduates from Universidad Europea.
In addition to speeches and posters, there were courses and plenary sessions, all designed to show the research work conducted in the last year in the university’s Optics and Optometry department.
One highlight was the Clinical course on refractive surgery in the Optometry consultancy, given by Professor César Villa. The goal was to show the latest developments in corneal and intraocular refractive surgery.
Furthermore, University professors Begoña Gacimartin, Teyma Valero and Noemí Güemes took part in a plenary session on diabetes, which aimed to provide the keys to obtaining as much information as possible when assessing a diabetic patient.
