IBWomen addresses the challenges of the digital transformation of Boards of Directors at the Alcobendas Campus

18 nov 2016

On Thursday, November 17, the Universidad Europea Alcobendas Campus hosted the seminar “The impact of the digital transformation on Boards of Directors. Opportunities for fun”, organized by IBWomen. The event was attended by important speakers such as Miriam Izquierdo, President of the IBWomen Foundation and CEO at Comerciando Global; María Jesús Alonso, former President of Cable & Wireless Spain and President of IBWomen; Marta Pérez Dorao, General Manager at FECE; Emma Fernández, board member at Ezentis and Axway and former Senior Vice President of INDRA; José Manuel de la Riva, President of Ametic; Antonio García Mon, General Secretary of Grupo Prisa; and María Luisa Poncela, President of the Center for Technological Development (CDTI) and new Secretary of State for Trade; among others.

In its bid to create an open space to bring visibility to the challenges that concern the business and professional society, and find solutions to these challenges, the Universidad Europea was the venue for this event that raised issues such as the role of the media in the digital transformation of Boards of Directors, the cost of this process, or the difficulty finding professionals with the required digital profile. In relation to this problem, Emma Fernández insisted in the need to move towards lifelong learning and bring the fear of the future to an end, as new professionals will emerge in the next decade.

To address these issues, other participants included Lourdes Lancho, Deputy Director of the “A vivir que son dos días” radio program on Cadena SER; Andrés Rodríguez, President of SpainMedia and board member at “El Español”; y Matilde Pelegrí, General Manager of Grupo SENDA.

The Universidad Europea was represented by Almudena Rodríguez Tarodo, expert in Employer Branding and Professor at the Universidad Europea; Rosa Sanchidrián, director of the Universidad Europea de Valencia Graduate Degree in Accreditation on Boards and Directors and Good Governance; and José María Palomares, Universidad Europea Director of Communication for Spain and Portugal.
