In June, Fernando Síscar and Benjamín Bango, the technical members of the national gymnastics team, visited the students of the Degree in Sports Science at the Universidad Europea to offer a class.
The experts focused their presentation on the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, specifically Síscar, the national coach for Men’s Gymnastics and responsible for planning the work of the national team each year, shared this experience with the students. “We expect good results from Rio 2016, we’re taking two gymnasts: Ray Zapata, who specializes in the floor exercise and is currently ranked third in the world; and another gymnast who will compete in six apparatus. We’ll try to get to the final and fight for the medals”, he said.
Regarding the Universidad Europea facilities, Síscar said that “I had already seen these wonderful facilities”, and added: “The students are lucky to have everything they need to grow”.
Bango, meanwhile, explained to students how to achieve the ideal shape to be able to reach a major competition in the best conditions. During his speech he explained that he completed his training at this University so he knew the center well, stressing that “its evolution is amazing and it now has unbeatable facilities”. “It is a University with very ambitious levels of training”, he concluded.
