Students from University College Birmingham visit Universidad Europea de Canarias

05 may 2016

A total of 15 students from the University College Birmingham MBA in International Tourism visited the Universidad Europea de Canarias to present their research project “Alternative Forms of Tourism in Tenerife.” During their visit, the group was accompanied by the official for Exterior Tourism Promotion of Tenerife, Marta Cubas, in addition to professors and students from the University, with whom they shared experience and knowledge.

During the meeting, the English university students presented four topics that they are working on in groups of four people: flyboard, volcano experience, cultural tourism and agro-tourism, and night boat tours with star-spotting and whale-spotting.

These young people also visited several places on Tenerife and spoke with company managers and government officials. From this experience, the university students from Birmingham, the second largest city in the United Kingdom, concluded that the island has unbeatable tourism resources and incredible landscapes that go far beyond just the sun and beach. The project leaders, Michelle Callanan and Sally Ievers, will return to the island next year.
