Faculty of Physical Activity & Sport Science in Madrid

Students learn with an experiential methodology. From the first course they work in simulated environments with a practical, integrative approach that incorporates the latest technologies in the field of sport and health and professional practices in real environments of their future profession.

Experiential Learning Academic Model

Experiential learning forms the basis of this model, in which you will learn by ‘doing’ and ‘being’. This integrated and multidisciplinary approach prepares you for a diverse and international world. Experiential learning allows you to acquire the knowledge, competencies and skills needed to thrive in your future profession and tackle any obstacles to social and digital transformation.

Thanks to these professional environments, our training is adapted to the reality of work and guarantees a connection with the professional world from the outset.

As leaders in exercise and health science, we find it crucial to infuse values such as curiosity and critical thinking into our learning model in order to instil in students a research-oriented mindset. Our students are capable of making decisions in a range of complex situations.

Our innovative learning methodology helps students to put their experiential learning opportunities into practice through case-based learning, simulated environments, flipped-classrooms, research projects, and much more. From the very outset, our students are thrown into this practical-focused approach to learning, which incorporates the latest technologies from the sector of sport and brings them closer to the real professional world.

The School offers a selection of innovative subjects that are not taught at other universities, such as Golf, Winter Sports and Nature-Based Activities (caving, winter sport techniques, interpretation of topographic maps, and more). The depth with which these and other sports are covered allows students to pursue one or more specialisations.
